Axial vibrations
The axial vibration application will check the shaft line for vibrations caused by the movements of the
cranks and the thrust generated by the propeller, but only in axial direction. Both free (undamped)
vibration calculations and forced (damped) vibration calculations can be made.
Advantages:
- The vibration model can be extracted directly from the Base Model.
- The application takes into account the stiffness of the thrust bearing.
- Automatic estimation of the 'entrained water properties' of the propeller and propeller excitation
forces.
- All results are graphically summarized in a Campbell Diagram (for free vibration calculations) and
in separate displacement graphs for each separate shaft element (for forced vibration
calculations).
